You were the one who showed me how to breathe How to open my mind and my eyes; to the emptiness and vast beauty (see also: suffering) of the world around us; to touch the wind (and feel the sunshine on our backs) and when my eyes opened yours closed and with it came the slam of a door closing in, you were afraid of what you saw you revealed unveiled exposed (left naked in the streets) the abstract ebbs and flows of your brain I was jealous at how miraculous it was (without the necessity to go with gears and symmetrical lines) you exiled yourself closed the world away and turned to a darker corner where you could be alone with your thou

In a way that I cannot explain, numb, bloated with pain, and fragile at the same time, I threw myself upwards in a gentle spasm that opened my eyes through a caked layer of unconsciousness. My hair fell down around my face and around my neck. For a moment, I was seeing colors swirl and form galaxies before my very eyes, and I was watching the very beginning of the universe itself. In cosmic shifts, the colors danced before me and spun me around and almost managed to take me away into a new world absent from the horrors that I just experienced and was attempting to block out. And as the universe will do one day, the colors dissolved like snow

I find the ability to look at myself in a mirror easily, and I reach out to touch the surface of silver glass. I outline my grey eyes the curving lines around my satin dress. I take in deep breaths and stare into my own eyes as Narcissus did thousands of years before. I know his secrets, I know why he did it. I see it in myself. But I am stronger than him, I won't fall into my own reflection. I am better. It's almost time to go downstairs, so I do my final checks. I overview my body and lick my blood red lips. Perfection. My world. My life. Me. Perfection. I go down my spiral staircase down to the main floor, one hand lightly place

My eyes are blinded, too clouded by fear to see the world in front of me. When I try to see the good in such a world, everything turns black.

I looked in a mirror and saw the universe reflected on my skin and eyes. I gazed at starlight within myself and an eye shed a radiant tear. And again I saw a warped universe fall down my face in creation.

Shadows and dreams blurred to one, and spilled inwards in my eyes. Refracting cosmic energy, I woke up with a start. Bang. I will never forget that bang.

Day reached out to me, grabbed my arm, and beat me. And as day turned to night, it gently tucked me into bed.

Night and day kissed and danced and spun until they merged to produce a shivering thing called Life. And now, Life exists in both and both exist in Life.

Somewhere far away, the wind touched me and walked away with me, and helped me find a place among the clouds, where I could observe the rotation of the earth from high above. I guess it was night then, and dreams were sweeping past in the Northern Lights, reflecting off of my irises. And when I had to leave, it whispered incoherently in my ear, but I think it said "I love you".
